Carina Heights is a suburb in the city of Brisbane, Queensland Australia, just 7.5 kilometres east of the Brisbane Central Business District (CBD). Carina Heights is bounded by Old Cleveland Road in the north, Creek Road in the east, Pine Mountain Road and the suburb of Holland Park in the south, and the suburb of Camp Hill, Jones Road, Samuel Street and Cambridge Street in the west.
Settlement of the area dates from the 1850s, with land used mainly for timber-getting and farming. Growth took place in the 1880s, and again in the early 1900s. However, the area remained largely rural until the post-war years. Rapid growth took place during the 1950s and 1960s, aided by public housing construction. The population increased during the 1990s, and then was relatively stable between 2001 and 2006, a result of some new dwellings being added to the area, but a decline in the average number of persons living in each dwelling.
Major features of the area include Whites Hill Reserve, Belmont Private Hospital and Pine Mountain.
Carina Heights is experiencing a revival as properties are developed and spit. Apartments and townhouses are being built is the area as people take advantage of the suburbs many features.
